Metaphors for Writing Process

IMG_3950Lorena’s writing process is always about food and she chose donuts because each piece she writes is always different.  She may go about the next piece entirely differently, and so it is with donuts.  There are glazed ones, decorated donuts, cake and chocolate…many kinds.  There are many approaches to take to getting a writing idea on paper.

IMG_3953 IMG_3956Writing can be like a circus — peeking into the big tent as in the picture above.  Or, it could be a barfing of letters (to the left) with a revising raccoon making sense of it all.  The contributor’s photos were with Lorena and me this past weekend at Asilomar64.

I began to see my process mostly about thinking.  I quoted the Rodin statue, hoping it would be humorous and detailed with with art tools and little yellow camera thought bubbles.
